Ruth’s television career started at ITV in the Westcountry 25 years ago where she worked as a continuity presenter and co-hosted the six o’clock evening news programme. From there she moved into national television and has fronted programmes for BBC1, BBC2, ITV and several satellite channels.
Ruth is a regular host on ITV 1’s lively, all female debate show Loose Women and often guests on panel and comedy shows including Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Keith Barry’s Magic Show and was even caught by Eamonn in bed with Rob Brydon on Annually Retentive!
Ruth’s love of gardening led to her presenting The Great British Garden Show for BBC2, ITV’s gardening quiz show The Answer Lies In The Soil and Gardens of the Millennium for the History Channel.
Her passion for cooking has seen her appear on Ready Steady Cook, host Carlton Television’s Food Network Daily and Westcountry TV’s cookery competition series Taste of the West.
Ruth has also fronted high profile commercial campaigns, is a voice-over artist and hosts corporate events. She has also narrated documentaries for Channel 4, Channel 5 and the History Channel, as well as corporate videos and radio commercials.
Lives
Ruth lives with her partner Eamonn Holmes in Surrey with their seven year old son Jack.
Hobbies/Interests
When she’s not working Ruth likes to play with Jack (Star Wars mostly!) and enjoys gardening, cooking, going to the cinema and eating chocolate.
