Antony Costa
Antony Daniel Costa was born in Middlesex in 1981 and was brought up in Edgware.

Antony showed an interest in entertainment from a young age and attended Hendon School in London where he excelled at drama and appeared in many school productions including ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Stags and Hens’. While at Hendon, he also appeared in ‘Grange Hill’, ’The Bill‘ and starred in the hit BBC sitcom ‘Chalk’.

In 2001, Antony’s career took a different path when he met with three guys named Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Duncan James. After discovering each others love of music and shared musical tastes, ‘Blue’ was formed and became an immediate International success after being singed to Innocent Records.

Blue’s success during this time was phenomenal and they even sang with artists like Stevie Wonder on his classic ‘Signed Sealed Delievered’ and Sir Elton John on ‘Sorry Seems to be the hardest word’. It is not surprising that they were awarded two BRIT awards for Best Newcomer in 2002 and Best Pop Act in 2003 after racking up a staggering 40 no. 1 singles worldwide, 3 No. 1 UK albums and sales in access of 13 million records!

After Blue decided to take a break, Antony was certainly kept busy and In 2005 he took part in the hugely successful but grueling “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”. After the trip down under, he decided to return to his love of Theatre and in 2006 he played the lead role of Mickey Johnstone in the London production of the hugely successful ‘Blood Brothers’, which was directed and produced by Bill Kenwright.

Antony then released his first solo single called, ‘Do You Ever Think Of Me’ and was delighted when the single made its debut at number 19 on the UK Singles chart. He then went on to compete in the 2006 ‘Making Your Mind Up’ programme to find a competitor to represent the UK in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.

Antony’s career has gone from strength to strength and after finishing his own solo tour in early 2009, to everyone’s delight, there was the announcement that the phoneme that was ‘Blue’ are back together!!
