Born in 1988 he was obsessed with films and watched up to 5 a day according to his mum. Just 10 years later he made his first TV appearances in ‘Put out more Fags’ and ‘Where the Heart is’, the following year saw him in ‘Clocking off’ and ‘This is Personal: The Hunt for Jack the Ripper’. It was during this time he had auditioned for and started filming with Coronation Street’s David Platt, having taken over the role from Thomas Ormson.
Since 2000 we have loved and loathed the Street’s most dysfunctional teenager - Jack was quoted as saying “Old ladies hit me with their bags. They should be given ASBOs”. Although this was as a result of his warped character pushing his mum Gail down the stairs, stepping over her body and running away, “soap fans often blur the line between reality and fiction” explains Jack. This was borne out in 2007 when Jack won Best Bad Boy Award at the Inside Soap Awards and as Best Villain at the British Soap Awards.
Of course at home now he’s just a doting dad.
